Sometimes it's nice to solve on paper, but AcrossLite maximizes the grid size, which means that the squares change size from one day to the next. Here is a Windows program (NOT Windows Mobile) that lets you pick a directory containing one or more .puz files, select the ones you want to print, and prints them two to a page. LIMITATIONS (TO BE FIXED): Only works for 15x15 puzzles -- a larger grid will simply overflow the available space. I'll get to that. If a clue word is too wide it will overflow the column rather than hyphenate. Doesn't take your particular printer's "unprintable" margin into account. REQUIREMENTS: You must have the Arial and Georgia fonts installed. Requires .NET 2.0 runtime. FEATURES: Includes the "notepad" at the top of the clues and draws circled squares. (Updated 11-Jan-2007 to fix a few glitchs.)

I like to solve (and construct, but that's another story) crossword puzzles. There are several great sources of daily and weekly puzzles in AcrossLite format. This program will open .puz files and let you solve them on Windows Mobile. It's not quite v1.0 yet -- it won't scroll if you try to do a large grid and it's designed for the Dell Axim's VGA resolution screen. (7-Apr-2006)

I want to be able to read various texts in Hebrew such as the siddur, tanakh, Mishne Torah, and Talmud Bavli). This program will open Unicode .txt files and display them right-to-left, assuming that you have a suitable font installed. This one is still an alpha release. (28-Nov-2005)

I miss the Palm's PIM. I'm writing my own. So far it doesn't do address-book stuff very well but it will handle appointments, tasks, and notes (which are considered a kind of task). It can be made to back up to a website -- if you want details let me know and I'll explain. (7-Apr-2006)
