1. The sources of illumination (hereinafter "lights" or "candles")
   which the undersigned parties (hereinafter "we" or "us") kindle
   pursuant to the conditions and considerations set forth herein,
   have been kindled due to various actions, enumerated in section 2,
   undertaken by the Holy One, Blessed be He (hereinafter "G-d").

2. The actions undertaken by G-d include but are not limited to (a)
   force majure, (b) wonders, (c) salvations, and (d) military
   interventions.

3. The aforementioned actions enumerated in section 2 were performed
   by G-d on behalf of the ancestors of the undersigned, prior to the
   establishment of this agreement but at a season roughly
   corresponding per annum to the date on which this agreement is
   undertaken.

4. The undersigned acknowlege that in regard to some or all of the
   actions enumerated above in section 2, the holy priests of G-d
   acted as agents for G-d, and that actions ascribed to G-d directly
   in sections 1 through 3 above may appear to have been accomplished
   by said priests. Notwithstanding such appearance, we acknowlege
   the ultimate responsibility for those enumerated actions as
   resting with G-d.

5. Throughout the eight days of Channukah, the lights (as set forth
   in section 1) are holy. 

6. In consideration of the holiness set forth in section 5, the
   undersigned are enjoined from deriving any use or benefit from
   the lights, or utilizing them in any way, except as set forth
   hereunder in section 7.

7. Notwithstanding the enjoinder in section 6, the undersigned may
   look at the lights for the sole purpose of the acknowlegement set
   forth above in section 3, and pursuant thereto, the praise of the
   great Name of G-d, as qualified in section 8.

8. The acts undertaken directly by G-d or indirectly through his agents,
   as set forth in section 4, and for which the undersigned will express
   thanks as set forth in section 7, are those actions enumerated in
   sections 2(a) through 2(c), but excluding 2(d), viz. (a) force
   majure, (b) wonders, and (c) salvations.
